Program Information
Welcome to the Beast!
Welcome to the Belleville Beast Swim Team competitive program! You are joining a community dedicated to athletic excellence, personal growth, and team pride. Below is a breakdown of our competitive groups. We tailor each group to help our swimmers unleash their inner beast in the pool.
Performance / Senior:
The Senior group prepares swimmers for high-caliber competition, aiming for Regional, Provincial, and National levels while building the endurance and advanced skills needed for university or college programs. Training focuses on precise technique adjustments for all four strokes, starts, turns, and finishes. Swimmers must be self-driven, reading the pace clock and executing complex sets independently. The environment is highly competitive and focused, demanding serious training while maintaining a sense of enjoyment at every practice.
Advanced / Development:
The Advanced/Development group builds on competitive fundamentals, moving swimmers past the novice stage toward Regional and Festival levels. Training focuses on active stroke correction for all four strokes, alongside introduction to the pace clock and longer middle-distance endurance sets. Swimmers develop the skills needed to eventually transition into advanced group training, balancing high effort with a fun environment at every practice.
Novice:
The Novice group serves as the essential stepping-stone between our developmental and regular competitive programs, further developing newly acquired swimming fundamentals. Swimmers transition to an increased schedule of four practices per week, combining regular water work with plenty of fun activities to grow their passion for the sport. Athletes also gain valuable competitive experience by traveling to entry-level meets and participating in invitationals alongside our advanced swimmers.
Junior Beast (Entry Level Competitive Swimming):
Designed for swimmers aged 7 and older, the Development program represents the grassroots of our sport, focusing on stroke development and competitive swimming fundamentals. Running across three 12-week sessions, this group introduces swimmers to the pace clock, proper drill execution, and standard distance sets up to 100 meters. Athletes gain experience at local invitational meets to prepare for future sanctioned competitions, transitioning into the Novice program once they master basic sets. Above all, this level prioritizes fun first to foster a lasting, happy relationship with competitive swimming.
The Masters program is geared towards adults of all ages to help work on stroke technique and build aerobic stamina. Swimming is a full body workout and one of the best activities to help build your cardiovascular system and tone your muscles. Many adults take part in lane swims frequently, but the program will deliver much more in an hour than you would do on your own. By creating an uplifting group environment with professional coaching, adults will have the chance to pursue swimming at a new level. Whether you are looking to compete at masters meets, training for triathlons, looking to better your technique or just want to be part of a fun and social exercise, the BBST Masters is the perfect program for you!
