When you register your swimmer with BBST, you're committing not only financially—but also with your time. Our club thrives on the dedication of its families, and we rely on every parent and guardian to help keep operations running smoothly.

While some members generously take on extra responsibilities, it's important to remember that every hour not volunteered by one family must be covered by another. To ensure sustainability and a strong legacy of volunteerism, BBST has implemented a Parent Volunteer commitment:

SWIM MEETS AND OFFICIALS

We will be running three meets this year, one being Regionals and as you know this will require volunteers to officiate.   We ask everyone to register as an official (instructions will be sent out by our COA) 

• The following is a message from our COA and COC, . 
  •  BBST will be running an Introduction to Swimming / Safety Marshal clinic for all new parents in Late September or October (TBA).  We encourage all new parents to participate in this early opportunity, as there is an expectation that parents officiate at home meets. Don't worry; there are lots of levels of officiating! There will be a sign-up on the team website and an email sent to all new parents.  For now, we ask that you create a profile on the Swimming Canada Official site. This will be your officials' passport for the duration of time your youth swims. Officials are a vital part of any club and we require certain level officials to host swim meets. Swim meets are what helps to create revenue for the club to succeed and keep fees low.  If you have any questions, please reach out to us at coa@bellevilleswimming.com or coc@bellevilleswimming.com.

5. Volunteer Officials & Point System Requirements

As a proud Belleville Beast Swim Team family, your involvement is key to our swimmers' success. To ensure our swim meets run smoothly and efficiently, every BBST family is required to earn volunteer points throughout the season. This year, we have switched to a new point system to align with the new Pool Queue system being used for meet management.

Families can earn points by serving as meet officials, joining committees (social, fundraising, or team travel), or contributing food and supplies to our hospitality room.

Annual Point Requirements by Group

Your family's point requirement is based on your swimmer's highest group level. For families with additional swimmers, those swimmers require half of their group's point amount, up to a maximum of 100 points per family.

How to Earn Points

Points are allocated based on the complexity and time commitment of the role or task.

Note: Points for food brought to meets will be announced (TBA) as specific meet information is posted.

Hosting swim meets provides many opportunities for the entire club to participate in competitive swimming. For new or younger swimmers they are a great way to experience the fun of a swim meet in a familiar environment. They also provide close to 30% of the club's annual revenue. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a $5 per point missed, up to a maximum of $300.
